Jacintha Clark

Jacintha Clark created an installation for the Past Present Projects exhibition Victoriana Reimagined at the Ebenezer Maxwell Mansion in 2018. Her installation, Parlour Porcelain, responded to the ornate Victorian grand piano in the mansion’s parlor. Clark researched Victorian parlor song for this project, combing through the sheet music collections of the Philadelphia Free Library. In her installation, Clark replicated popular sheet music in the medium of porcelain in order to explore intersections of musical and cultural traditions, as well as modes of transmission and consumption.
